Relaxing Bath Salts
So it’s officially here… winter… ugh!! Not only is it super cold outside but I also don’t yet have my winter tires so driving to and from work was a nightmare. I also almost drove into my garage door as I couldn’t brake… FML. I swear it’s the first day and I’ve already had it up to here!
Anyways now that my rant is out of the way, I can tell you guys what I did to make myself feel SO MUCH BETTER!! I took a luxurious bath!
So simple to make but really does wonders for the skin and spirit. A little night time R&R is always a wonderful thing, especially on a sad and cold Monday like today.
So now that I’m all warm and snuggled (you can see my winter toasty warm slippers)…
Let’s jump right in!
You only need a few ingredients
- Epsom Salts (I bought these regular unscented Epsom salts at Walmart for a couple of dollars)
- Baking soda
- Dried lavender buds (I got these at the local farmer’s market for 5$)
- And your choice of essential oils- this is my new kit that I’m currently IN LOVE with! Anjou Essential Oils
I chose to add lavender, eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils.
I eye balled out this recipe. I chose a mason jar that I wanted to keep the bath salts in and just did 2 parts epsom salts to 1 part baking soda. Then I crumpled up the lavender leaves as the girl at the shop told me that this was the best way to get the strongest fragrance out of them. Lastly, I added about 3-5 drops each of lavender, eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils.
I added it all into my mason jar and shook it allllll around to make sure that all the ingredients got equally distributed.
Oh and I forgot to mention! I painted my mason jar the night before with white acrylic paint for that fun rustic look. All I need to do now is buy some paint sealer an spray the jar so the acrylic paint won’t come off.
