I realized that I have so many things that I want to do and the bigger my ideas get, the more intimated I become by them.
One day it hit me…. that’s the whole point of this new age way that companies have their workers work! That’s what scrum and kaizen and all those ways of doing business are all about! Short term, achievable goals!
So I needed to have my giant life goals split up into itty bitty bite sized pieces that I can cross off and see myself making progress. You cannot possibly tell me that there can be ANYTHING more satisfying that crossing off a task!
After I came to this realization, I began looking around my loft. Should I just write on the walls? Should I paint a wall in chalkboard paint? Should I buy a chalkboard???
And then it hit me! I can go to the dollar store and buy a simple canvas that I can paint over in chalkboard paint!!!
Total price…. under 10$!!
After I bought the canvas, all I had to do was buy the chalkboard paint which I found at Walmart.
I had sponge brushes (also bought at the dollar store) at home from a previous project so I just used one of those.
All you have to do is coat the canvas with a couple of layers (I did about 5 thin layers) of the chalkboard paint (make sure each layer dries properly prior to applying next coat).
I let it dry until the next day.
Then all that was left was to season the chalkboard with some chalk and voila! My chalkboard was born!
Easiest DIY project ever!
Now all my words are turning into actions and I feel so much more productive!
I would love to see your chalkboards! Send me your photos on instagram 🙂
