Coffee Body Scrub

Moisturizing Coffee ScrubHappy New Year everyone!

This holiday season was awesome except for one thing… I got MAJORLY sick. The only thing that has been helping me with my nasal congestion and headaches was my herbal hot pack which helped relieve some of the tension in my sinuses.

Whenever I’m sick, I start feeling sorry for myself because lets face it, if I don’t feel sorry for me then who will… am I right? Someone please tell me I’m not alone in this!

So it’s for sad times like these that I make sure to have some DIY mini spa pampering around my home. A warm bath with Lavender Eucalyptus Bath Salts are a must as they help with the sinus pressure and this incredible coffee scrubs makes my skin feel super smooth and warm after my bath.

Oh and did I mention that the caffeine in this scrub helps with cellulite??!?! I noticed a bit of cellulite on my hips a couple of months ago. Since then I have been dry brushing and using this incredible coffee scrub and I swear I see a difference! Not to mention my skin feels so silky and smooth even with the cold dry months in full swing!

PS If you haven’t gotten on the dry brushing wagon yet DO IT!! Trust me, you’re skin will never be the same after you do. It’s the simplest thing, all you have to do it use a dry brush that you can purchase anywhere from Amazon, Walmart or even The Body Shop and you simply brush your skin in circular motions going towards your heart before your morning shower or your evening bath. This helps promote blood circulation, removes toxins and helps remove dead skin cells, leaving your skin silky smooth.

So here’s all you need…

1/2 cup epsom salts – I use these Epsom Salt

1 heaping tsp ground coffee

1 ground all spice seed

1/2 tsp sweet almond oil

1 tbs coconut oil

I also like to add 1/2 tsp of vegetable glycerine for that extra richness (This is my favourite one right now-NOW Solutions Glycerine Vegetable)

Simply melt the coconut oil, add all the other ingredients and mix well to combine.

It should resemble a coarse wet sand.

For an extra luxurious and pampering scrub, you can whip up the coconut oil and then add the remaining ingredients. The whipped up coconut will promote a super fluffy and lush feeling that will have you scrubbing not just your body but your hands as well!

Also, keep in mind that by using epsom salts instead of sugar or regular sea salt you get a whole array of benefits from the magnesium when it’s absorbed through the skin including that it works to relieve muscle tension, pain, and inflammation in joints!
Epsom salt scrubs, soaks and baths are especially beneficial before bed as magnesium is well known for its ability to help with insomnia, relaxes your muscles and gives you that wonderful ‘sleepy’ feeling.
This scrub is full of health benefits so scrub away!!
