Dairy Free Chocolate Mousse

You have not lived until you have tried this decadent dairy free chocolate mousse!
I know it’s been quite the minute since my last post. Life keeps getting in the way as I’m sure you know it has a tendency to. But I’m back with a vengeance with this INCREDIBLE dairy free chocolate mousse 😀
Did I ever mention that I ADORE avocados??? Like I mean I can eat a whole avocado with just a hint of salt in one sitting! So when I saw that people have been making dairy free chocolate mousse from avocado, I decided to jump right on this bandwagon.
It’s incredibly decadent and rich but instead of being super heavy from heavy cream and dairy products that make my tummy hurt, this amazing dessert is super rich in healthy fats, antioxidants and heart healthy nutrients.
If you’re anything like me and suffer from very painful TOTMS (time of the month syndrome) then you too must jump on the avocado craze as they are SUPER high in potassium which has shown to help alleviate cramps. Avocados are higher in potassium than even bananas!
This is NOT an avocado ad I promise! I’m just super excited about this awesome berry. Yup, you heard right… it’s a berry! I bet you didn’t know that little fun fact did you… 😉 It’s a single-seeded berry.
Now that I have filled you guys in on my avocado excitement, on to the other ingredients in this awesome dessert.
I used organic raw cacao powder. It has to be the raw unsweetened kind as that’s the stuff that’s super rich in iron, fibre, zinc and magnesium. I love this stuff in my protein bites, smoothies and especially in this dairy free chocolate mousse!
It took me several attempts to come up with this perfect version of this chocolate mousse. All the other version always tasted like I sprinkled some cacao powder on my avocado which as much as I love avocado, even I can admit was a bit odd lol. But while this recipe has the tiniest hint of avocado it’s so chocolatey and delicious even when I gave it to a 14 year old to try, he said it’s not his favourite but that it’s good! That was the ultimate taste test for me 😀
This recipe is the whole package! It’s filled with so many incredible nutritional benefits as well as being dairy free, dairy free, gluten free and organic.
And did I mention that it only takes 10 minutes IN TOTAL to put together?!?

- 1 avocado
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp fleur de sel
- 1 tbs coconut oil
- 4 tbs cacao powder
- 1/2 tsp fresh lime juice
- Place all the ingredients into a food processor and pulse until smooth and creamy.
- This should take about 5 minutes.
- Make sure to scrape down the sides every minute or so.
