Soothing Tummy Discomfort
What to do when you eat something that you know you shouldn’t but have a HUGE craving for.
That’s exactly what happened to me last night. I don’t eat fried food or beef. However, when I was taking an evening walk to enjoy earth day I walked past a burger joint and had the BIGGEST craving for a burger and fries (probably not the most earth friendly food… I know :/) Ugh!! my body immediately began rejecting the food and boy was I in pain.
I realized that I had 2 options, either I threw it all up or I would try using DiGize essential oil and taking activated charcoal.♥
I opted for the latter as I HATE making myself sick. Nothing can be nastier than doing that if you ask me and I reserve that only for the times that I’m REALLY sick and it’s the only option.
I remembered that DiGize essential oil is supposed to help with tummy pain.
So I took a few drops of DiGize and rubbed it clockwise on my tummy. After that, I took 2 activated charcoal pills. I have no idea how the essential oil worked but it soothed my tummy. Activated charcoal is always my go-to anytime I feel like something isn’t a-ok in my tummy (you can buy them at any pharmacy in easy-to-take pill form). The combo worked like magic!
Lastly, what I did is I took a large glass bottle and filled it with water. To that I added 2 drops of peppermint essential oil and half of a lemon. I peeled and sliced the lemon as I feel that infuses the water better.
Please keep in mind that Young Living essential oils are not approved for internal ingestion by Health Canada.
As you probably know, mint is known for it’s ability to aid in digestive issues. That’s why I always aim to have some fresh mint, frozen mint and/or mint essential oil in the house at all times.
The beauty of essential oils is that you honestly only need a drop and MAX 2 drops for a large glass bottle.
I’m not a believer in magic but I could have sworn at that point that that’s what is was as I was no longer in pain 😀
